Call for Applications by October 9, 2015 for Methow Valley Schools Levy Task Force

Methow Valley Schools LevyStudents, Staff, Parents and Community Members are encouraged to apply by 5:00 pm on Friday, October 9, 2015 for consideration to serve on the Methow Valley Schools Levy Task Force.

The purpose of this group is to:

  • Learn how the expiring Maintenance & Operations (M&O levy supports nearly 25 percent of the district’s annual operating budget) helps the Methow Valley Public Schools maintain its current education programs for students.
  • Form a recommendation to the Superintendent that includes the next four-year Maintenance and Operations and Technology replacement levies.
  • Recommend levy amounts to the Superintendent for both replacement levies (Maintenance and Operations and Technology) to be placed on a special election ballot as early as February 9, 2016.

The basis for its establishment:
Methow Valley Public Schools’ general operations (M&O) levy, which comprises nearly 25 percent of its annual budget, is expiring. The previous technology levy, which supports the integration of technology in the classroom, is also expiring. Both levies will be placed on the ballot as early as February 9, 2016.

Task Force members will be asked to attend three scheduled meetings, beginning Thursday, October 22, 2015.
