We are excited to announce that Northwest Outward Bound School has been awarded a grant to provide programming for students in the Methow Valley School District through the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office’s No Child Left Inside grant program. The grant will provide funding to offer expanded outdoor programming for students at the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year.
Students entering 7 th and 9 th grades at Liberty Bell Junior-Senior High School, as well as students attending the Independent Learning Center, will have the opportunity to start their school year by working with their classmates through rock climbing, rappelling, hiking, camping, and enjoying their beautiful Methow Valley at the Northwest Outward Bound School basecamp in Mazama. Northwest Outward Bound School was founded in 1965 and has centers in Portland, Redmond (OR), and Mazama (WA). Outward Bound is an educational organization focused on character development, leadership skills and service to community.
