Please Welcome Scott Barber, Liberty Bell History Teacher!

Scott BarberScott Barber grew up in Issaquah and went on to study at Pacific Lutheran before heading out on an extended journey of skiing, surfing and travelling in Asia.

Scott met his wife Catie, who teaches 5th grade at Methow Valley Elementary, in Nepal. Following their travels, Scott attended graduate school at Western Washington University, where he obtained his teaching degree. Together, Scott and Catie have spent the last 16 years teaching in the Philippines, Nicaragua, Dubai and most recently, Warsaw, Poland. Much of Scott’s career has been spent in the English department, yearbook, journalism and also teaching and humanities coursework.

When Scott’s not teaching, he loves to participate in the performing arts– both directing and acting in school productions. He has been active in promoting student music and performing music in a variety of venues with his students and colleagues. In addition, Scott possesses an obsession with climbing mountains. He is looking forward to standing on top of some of the higher peaks in the North Cascades!
