Katie Leuthauser grew up in upstate New York in the small town of Hannawa Falls. She attended SUNY Cortland where she majored in Adolescence Education specializing in Earth Science and minored in Biology. Following graduation, she moved west to Bickleton, WA where she taught 7th-12th grade physics, chemistry, and earth sciences.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Katie coached volleyball, basketball, and track and field. For the past year she has been working towards her Masters of Science in Environmental Education at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, OR where she has been developing a school farm program.
Katie enjoys spending as much time outside as possible and especially likes hiking, backpacking, running, swimming, skiing, and climbing. She is very excited to join the Liberty Bell team because of its strong sense of community and focus on developing well-rounded students through an integrated, hands on, project-based approach to teaching and learning.
