Erik Brooks Steps Into Liberty Bell XC Head Coaching Position

Following a long and successful career as head coach, Craig Herlihy is using last season’s Girls State Title as an opportunity to pass along a vibrant and successful program to his up-and-coming assistant coach, Erik Brooks. Herlihy will continue to support the team as an assistant coach, and is looking forward to seeing the program continue to grow.

Herlihy has coached a multitude of successful teams and individuals throughout his reign as head coach. Herlihy is also credited by many for the survival of the cross-country program, stemming from years ago when he countered a proposal to eliminate cross-country as an LBHS school sport. We wish to thank Herlihy for his many years as head coach and for continuing to grow a program that was once on the edge of extinction.

Stepping in to the head coach position will be, former assistant coach, Erik Brooks. Brooks brings many seasons of coaching and competing experience from the high school and collegiate levels. Brooks excels at developing personalized training schedules, motivating runners towards their desired goals, and building an inclusive team atmosphere. Erik’s wife, Sarah Brooks, will continue to serve as an assistant coach for the program, which has seen a huge number of participants in recent years.
