As part of the Methow Valley School District’s focus on “Equity and Excellence for All,” it is announcing the reduction of Pay-to-Play Fees for the 2017-18 school year.
Pay-to-Play fees will be $35 per season during the 2017-18 school year. This is the second consecutive year of reductions to Pay-to-Play fees made by the district, resulting nearly a 40% reduction over the two-year period. Activities Director Chase Rost states:
“This is clear reflection of our district’s strategic effort to develop the whole child and remove the economic barriers that can prevent a student-athlete from participating. We know the research strongly suggests that students who are involved in extra-curricular athletics and activities are more likely to graduate on-time.”
The Methow Valley School District’s continued efforts to eliminate course fees, supply fees, pay-to-play fees, and the many other enrichment fees over time is is a reflection of the school board’s vision – A vision made possible the successful passage of its levies in the absence of adequate state funding.
Thank you Methow Valley!
