Methow Valley School District and Northwest Outward Bound School Receive No Child Left Inside Grant!

Northwest Outward BoundWe are excited to announce that Northwest Outward Bound School and Methow Valley School District have been awarded a grant through the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office’s No Child Left Inside grant program.

Ranked number 6 out of 72 grant submissions, the grant will provide funding to offer expanded outdoor programming and team building opportunities for students at the beginning of the 2018-19 school year.

Students entering 7th and 9th grades at Liberty Bell Junior-Senior High School, as well as students attending the Independent Learning Center, will have the opportunity to start their school year participating in rock climbing, rappelling, hiking, camping, and enjoying their beautiful Methow Valley with their peers at the Northwest Outward Bound School basecamp in Mazama.

Northwest Outward Bound School was founded in 1965. It has centers in Portland, Redmond (OR), and Mazama (WA). Outward Bound is an educational organization focused on character development, leadership skills and service to community.
