Are you looking for a way to support local students? Or do you have a family member or friend who has an interest in volunteering in our schools?
As our enrollment grows, so too does the demand for academic tutoring services. Our goal is to provide a high levels of individualized support to all of our learners.
The district currently needs volunteer tutors who are able to provide students with support in the areas of math, science, language arts, and world languages. If you have expertise in any one of those areas, please consider joining our invaluable network of tutors!
A bit of background: Thanks to funding provided by the Public School Funding Alliance, the Methow Valley School District is able to make free, individualized tutoring available to interested junior high and high school students. Many Liberty Bell students have benefited from this program since it started in 2004, thanks to the volunteer efforts of both students and adult community members.
Students are paired with participating Honor Society members or qualified community volunteers to receive personalized assistance; students and their tutors work together to identify mutually agreeable times to meet on a regular (usually weekly) basis.
Please contact Beth Anderson, MVSD Tutoring Coordinator, for more information on how you can get involved — we appreciate your generous support.
