The MVSD has selected Max Thomas to replace MVES 1st Grade Teacher, Cara Christensen, who will be on maternity leave, beginning Monday, January 6th, 2020.
Originally from Minneapolis Minnesota, Max has a degree in Outdoor Education from the University of Minnesota Duluth. Since college Max has put his degree to good use, applying it to his work with children in a variety of outdoor settings. Recent examples include serving as a Park Ranger in Glacier National Park and working as the Senior Naturalist at the North Cascades Institute. Currently, Max is serving as an educational support professional at MVES and recently as the Education Coordinator for Classroom in Bloom.
When we asked last year’s Classified Excellence Award recipient how he felt about being selected to serve as a 1st grade teacher at MVES, Max stated, “I am both humbled and honored to serve our community, be a part of dynamic team, and step in for an exceptional teacher.”
When Max isn’t spending his time teaching in the classroom or the garden, he makes every effort to go hiking, participate in a variety of sports, and go figure… garden!
Please join us as we congratulate Max Thomas, MVES 1st grade teacher!
