LBHS Music Teacher, David Mills was recently awarded a North Central Education Foundation Teacher Classroom Grant for his “Microphones for Online Learners” project.
The $300 grant was made possible because of a donation received from the Woods Family Music & Arts Fund. When asked about the grant David stated, “…because of this (grant) I was able to order microphones for remote students to use for recording. The goal of this grant was to provide an opportunity for remote students to take part in our culminating project for the semester, which in our case is audio recordings of our music. With some research and help from a friend, I was able to find several affordable microphones of different varieties. This will help accommodate remote students of different instrument types and sound frequencies.”
In addition to the microphones, David ordered Bell Covers and Masks for the students at LBHS in an effort to “help mitigate the spread of aerosols when we play our instruments.” And, after much delay, the covers and masks have finally arrived!
Congratulations LBHS Music Teacher, David Mills, and thank you North Central Education Foundation and the Woods Family for supporting our aspiring musicians!
