We’ve tested… Now what?

Dear Methow Valley Students, Parents, Staff, and Community Members,

Drive-through Covid testing at Liberty BellWe want to thank those of you who participated in the recent COVID-19 testing involving students, staff, and community members. Based upon the turnout, the Methow Valley is a community that cares deeply for its youth and one another.

We also want to thank Aero Methow, Lifeline, the Okanogan County Public Health Department, and Family Health Centers for their efforts to keep our schools and community COVID free and open.

We expect to receive testing results soon. In anticipation, we’ve attempted to identify some commonly asked questions below.

Covid-19 Test Results FAQ

Q: My family participated in the “community-wide” COVID-19 testing. What if I’m notified that my student or an individual in my immediate family tested positive?
A: Please contact Adriana Vanbianchi, MVSD School Nurse at: avanbianchi@methow.org. She will outline the next steps and describe some of the support systems that may be available to you.

Q: If I/we participated in community-wide testing, will my test results remain confidential?
A:Yes. Your personal information will remain confidential.

Q: My student participated in COVID testing at school. If my student’s “pool” test is positive, how will I know? What will I need to do?
A: If your student is part of a batch that tested positive, you will be contacted by Adriana Vanbianchi. She will outline the next steps, which may include:

  • Quarantining your student until they are retested.
  • Retest – Your student will be asked to take an individual PCR test to determine if they are COVID-19 positive.

Q: Will my student’s test results remain confidential?
A: Yes. Your student’s personal information will remain confidential.

Q: What if my student and/or my family’s test results are negative? Will we be contacted?
A: If your test results are negative, you will not be contacted. Continue to implement the COVID-19 safety protocol – mask-wearing, physical distancing, hand washing, limiting travel, and avoiding large gatherings outside of your immediate household.

Q: If someone in my immediate family tests positive and we are required to quarantine, are there supports available?
