The MVSD is pleased to announce another important step forward focused on eliminating the economic barriers that many of our students, families and community members have faced for far too long.
Effective immediately, students are no longer required to purchase ASB cards in order to participate in district-sponsored activities and athletic programs. Further, spectators will no longer be charged admission to view contests hosted here at LBHS.
Driven by a vision of providing a “free and appropriate public education for all”, mindful of the importance of athletics and extracurricular activities in the lives of our students, and in acknowledgement of the community members who support them, we hope this allows everyone in our community the opportunity to enjoy participating in and supporting Liberty Bell activities and athletic programs without experiencing undue financial hardship. This action, fueled by the visionary leadership of the MVSD Board of Directors, is made possible in large part by the generous support our community has displayed through the successful passage and funding of our local school levies.
It is wonderful to once again see athletic contests on the horizon for Liberty Bell athletes. Many of us are familiar with the hardship that students have faced in losing access to their teammates, coaches, and the opportunity to participate in the sports and activities they love. This has made it all the more clear that eliminating barriers to participating in athletics and extracurricular activities is of the utmost importance. When we come back, we should all be able to come back. We hope that eliminating admission and ASB fees will help to ensure that is truly possible.
