Recognizing the importance of academic, social-emotional, and physical development, particularly for our youngest students, as well as the staff’s desire to expand “in-person” learning time with students, Methow Valley Elementary will open up Wednesday mornings for “in-person” instruction.
Starting Wednesday, February 24, we will replace “remote” Wednesdays with an alternating Early Release schedule. Working within the current hybrid/cohort structure, students will attend school “in-person” every other Wednesday for the rest of the school year, unless notified otherwise. Please visit the District Calendar page for schedule specifics.
Wednesday “In-Person” Early Release Schedule: 8:30AM – 12:20PM
Wednesday, February 24: First “in-person” session for Thursday/Friday cohort
Wednesday, March 3: First “in-person” session for Monday/Tuesday cohort
Teachers will continue to support students in MVE’s hybrid program on their remote learning day through independent, asynchronous, learning activities. If parents and students have questions regarding remote learning, they should contact their child’s teacher.
MVE’s Camp Methow Childcare program will continue to operate on Wednesday mornings. Families in need of childcare should complete the Camp Methow Wednesday Survey to inquire into childcare availability. If you have specific questions, please contact childcare coordinator Megan Fraser at: mfraser@methow.org.
Additional information about Wednesday Early Release days will be shared during our Video Q&A session on Tuesday, February 9 @ 5PM via Google Meet. The session will be recorded and shared out for those unable to attend.
Thank you for working with us to make the best out of a difficult and complex situation.
Sincerely,
Paul Gutzler
Principal, Methow Valley Elementary
