Moving Parts: MVSD to Announce a Series of New Hires and Changes in Staffing, Beginning with Andy Miller, MVE’s New 4th Grade Teacher

New MVE teacher Andy Miller and familyAs we prepare for the 2021-22 school year, we want to welcome our newly hired staff and update you as to what we know at this time with regard to a few staffing changes. Given the many changes, we plan to do so in a series – beginning with our newest addition – Andy Miller, MVE 4th grade teacher.

With a continued focus on reducing class sizes at MVE, the MVSD welcomes Andy Miller, MVE 4th grade teacher. Andy Miller moved to the Methow Valley 20 years ago. A former teacher at Little Star Montessori School and graduate of Western Washington University, Andy has been teaching at Brewster Elementary in 3rd and 5th grade for the past five years. With a passion for the outdoors and a background in theatre, Andy uses both these stages to diversify learning.

When asked about his decision to select Andy as the new 4th grade teacher, MVE Principal, Paul Gutlzer stated, “It’s clear from what others have shared about Andy that he brings his interests and enthusiasm into the classroom. We can’t wait for him to get started at Methow Valley Elementary!” When asked about the opportunity to teach at MVE, Andy stated, “I’m overjoyed to return to teaching here in Methow Valley. This is the place my family calls home.”

When he’s not teaching, you can find Andy spending time with his wife Svea and children Anja and Ethan, biking the trails, skiing, and coaching.

Please join us as we welcome Andy Miller, MVE’s new 4th grade teacher!
