Moving Parts: MVSD Announces the Selection of Brooke DeVlieg, MVE’s New 5th Grade Teacher

New MVE Teacher Brooke DeVliegThe Methow Valley School District is pleased to announce the selection of Brooke DeVlieg, MVE’s new 5th grade teacher.

A native Washingtonian, Brooke graduated from Seattle University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master’s in Teaching. Brooke taught 5th grade for five years prior to having her first of two daughters, both of whom will be attending Liberty Bell next year. Brooke served as a substitute teacher in the Northshore School District for 7 years while raising her young girls, eventually transitioning back to a full-time teaching position where she taught first grade and second grade. When asked what she enjoys teaching most, Brooke stated, “I love teaching science and working with students at all grade levels.”

When asked why she chose the Methow Valley as a place to call home, she replied, “We (Brooke and her husband) fell in love with the Methow Valley ten years ago and have been residents for the last three years. We appreciate the small community and abundance of outdoor activities – hiking, snowshoeing, biking. Our Australian Shepherd does as well!”
