Under the direction of LBHS Music Instructor, David Mills, the MVSD will be expanding the Liberty Bell Jr./Sr. High School music program.
Originally hired as a half-time music instructor assigned to teach concert band and jazz band, the LBHS will be expanding its offerings to include a pep band and ukulele courses, providing middle school and high school students access to a full slate of instrumental course offerings.
Acknowledging David’s first year as a teacher has been a bit unique, we asked LBHS Principal, Crosby Carpenter to share his impressions. He stated, “David’s enthusiasm and passion for music have been nothing short of extraordinary…. While many schools temporarily hit pause on their music programs during the 2020-2021 school year, David and his students found creative ways to play music together. Looking forward, the possibilities are limitless.”
A graduate of Western Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in music education, David possesses a broad range of musical experiences. Originally from Aberdeen, Washington, he was an active member of the musical community playing in various groups including the Grays Harbor Symphony Orchestra. While concert music is his specialty, he also has expertise in musical theatre and jazz music.
When David isn’t working on a musical project he likes to spend time outdoors playing disc golf. He is very excited about the opportunity to grow the Liberty Bell music program.
Please join us as we congratulate LBHS Music Instructor, David Mills and share our enthusiasm for the expansion of the LBHS music program!
