Thank you Methow Valley!

“I don’t have to chase extraordinary moments to find happiness – it’s right in front of me if I’m paying attention and practicing gratitude.” ~ Brene Brown

Dear Methow Valley Students, Parents, and Community Members,

Students giving superintendent and principal "thank you" cupcakes. This week was truly extraordinary. Opening our doors, welcoming approximately 750 new and returning students and their families after nearly two years of school closures, remote learning, hybrid models, observing the happiness and joy displayed by our students…

And, the icing on the top of the (cup)cake – receiving a letter and a cupcake, with sprinkles, from a few Liberty Bell students, expressing their gratitude to our staff for their tireless efforts to safely reopen our schools in support of all students.

Well, the feelings are mutual… As MVSD Board Member, Gary Marchbank has repeatedly stated, “We are a community that comes together in the face of adversity, stays focused on the big picture, and does whatever it takes, especially when it comes to our youth. As we’ve said from the beginning (of the pandemic), schools don’t reopen schools, communities reopen schools.”

Kudos Methow Valley students, parents, and community members – Our hats are off to you!

Sincerely,
Tom Venable
Superintendent
