MVSD Welcomes Graduating Class of 2034!

Dear Methow Valley Students, Parents, and Community Members,

Today, the Methow Valley Elementary staff welcomed MVE Kindergarteners and their families as they arrived for their first day of school.

Father with kinder studentsFollowing the first bell, Kindergarten teachers Julie Haskins, Maggie Wicken, and Jake Wicken escorted their new students to their classrooms while MVE Principal, Paul Gutzler hosted “Tea and Tissues” for parents outside near the library.

We recently asked one of our teachers to describe what it’s like to teach in a kindergarten class of 16-18 students. She stated, “Imagine throwing a birthday party for 18 five and six year old children. That is the type of energy and excitement they bring to the classroom, everyday. Each day is a new day, filled with limitless possibilities. Their academic, social-emotional, and physical growth are exponential… And, I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”

MVE Kinders, the graduating class of 2034, we are excited to celebrate your arrival and work with your parents to support your success at all points along the way!

Sincerely,
Tom Venable
Superintendent, Methow Valley School District
