Please join us in welcoming LBHS alumni Exie Romero, who was recently hired to teach junior high Humanities and World Language Liberty Bell!
Growing up in the Methow Valley Exie always felt her community’s strong support and encouragement. When asked to reflect on returning to the community and school she grew up in, Exie stated, “Returning this fall as a member of the Liberty Bell teaching staff, I feel the same support and encouragement graciously welcoming me back. For this, I am humbled and thankful.”
In June of 2021, Exie graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in American and Ethnic Studies from the University of Washington Bothell. During college, she had valuable experiences collaborating with very diverse groups of people; many from different cultural backgrounds. Reflecting on her time at UW Bothell Exie noted, “These experiences helped me fully embrace my own personal identity, inspiring me to help others realize their full potential and build stronger connections with their roots. I’m just as eager to help support and learn from my previous teachers here in the Valley, as I am to help support and learn from all current students. I trust my practical insight, and my ability to wholeheartedly empathize with all perspectives, will bring great harmony in whatever situation.”
Outside of teaching, you can find Exie pouring over all sorts of music, rewatching spaghetti westerns, or driving across the state sightseeing and visiting friends.
Welcome to the MVSD family, Exie!
