Bettina Gehle Selected to Serve as MVE PE Teacher

Bettina Gehle with two light brown dogs.The MVSD is pleased to announce that Bettina Gehle has been selected to serve as MVE’s PE teacher, beginning in the fall of the 2022-23 school year. She will be replacing Ray Sanders who will be on professional leave, living and teaching abroad in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

AFter earning a Master’s degree in Education from University Georg August University Goettingen [Germany], Bettina started her teaching career in a vocational school in Germany. She immigrated to the United States in 2000. Shortly following her arrival, she began teaching for the Issaquah School district at Tiger Mountain, an alternative high school. During her tenure with the Issaquah School District, she also taught at the 9th grade school Pacific Freshman campus. Currently, she is teaching at Pacific Cascade Middle School. It should also be mentioned that Bettina served as the head coach for both boys’ and girls’ tennis at Skyline High School for 22 years.

When asked about her decision to relocate to the Methow Valley, Bettina stated, “My wife Deb and I are excited to be part of the Methow Valley community. Our two golden retrievers, Mia and Finney, are looking forward to the hikes, runs and skiing they will do with us.”
