Dear Methow Valley Students, Parents, and Community Members,
It’s with the eternal hope, optimism, and unbridled enthusiasm that each new school year generates, reflected in the “shining eyes and bright smiles” displayed by MVSD students, that I wish to welcome each of you back as we jump start the 2022-23 school year!
Working together in support of every student, “one student at a time,” I am confident that during the 2022-23 school year, no different than previous school years, each of us – students, parents, and staff alike – will experience many successes. Undoubtedly, we will also experience challenges, some anticipated, and some unforeseen. However, what I believe sets us apart is the grace, humility, resiliency, competence, and compassion we display in the face of these challenges – an entire community, acting as one, cultivating deep, meaningful connections, providing high levels of support, and helping each of our students to see what is possible, especially those who can’t yet see it themselves.
Throughout the summer months, your school principals, school leadership teams, student and family support services team, tech team, food services team, school secretaries, custodial/maintenance staff, district office staff, transportation department, and classroom teachers have been working hard to prepare safe, secure, and healthy learning environments, expand educational pathways and related course offerings, reduce class sizes, expand enriching extracurricular activities and aftercare, and mental health care services, all at no cost to families.
As we prepare to dive into what promises to be the best year ever, I want to thank each of you in advance for doing your part to make the Methow Valley a great place to live, work, and raise healthy students!
Cheers,
Tom Venable
Superintendent, Methow Valley School District
