Welcome to the MVSD
Superintendent Dr. Grant Storey

As the Superintendent of the Methow Valley School District, I would like to welcome each of you to the Methow Valley and its exceptional schools: Methow Valley Elementary, Liberty Bell Jr. Sr. High School, The Methow Valley Independent Learning Center, and our Responsive Education Alternative for Children at Home (REACH) program.

Quality Teaching

Led by a visionary school board, our schools strive to develop curious, creative, compassionate, competent, action-oriented citizens prepared to change the world. Our staff works hard to make each school a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment where every student feels respected, valued, and dignified. A place where every student can shine. However, we can not do this work alone and believe that family and community involvement plays a critical role in a student’s academic and social emotional development. Grateful for strong two-way dialogue and active engagement through unparalleled partnership between school, home, and the community, our district continues to build on its strengths, innovate exceptional teaching and learning, empower student voice and action, and develop graduates prepared  to pursue the widest range of careers, education, and life opportunities.

Our Valley

The Methow Valley, as it is for many, is a special place to me and my family. We initially fell in love with the Methow Valley for its dramatic landscapes and natural beauty and made it our home because of the close-knit, welcoming community and the intentionality in which life is lived. Perhaps more importantly, we cherish how the entire community, despite its diverse differences, is singularly focused on its commitment to the growth, discovery, and boundless potential of its youth.

Community Support

Building on this strong partnership that exists between our schools, the home, and the community, we hope the district’s website serves as a useful resource, providing you with important information about our schools and the many opportunities for participation.

If you have any ideas or questions about how you can support our schools, please don’t hesitate to send me an email or call (509) 996-9205.
