Facilities Planning

Background

Methow Valley School District is beginning a comprehensive Long-range Facilities Planning process to thoughtfully assess and plan for the future of its school facilities. This work is intended to help the District understand current conditions, identify priority needs, and develop responsible, long-term strategies that support teaching, learning, safety, and stewardship of community resources. The planning effort will be informed by technical facility assessments, enrollment and program considerations, while also reflecting the values and priorities of the Methow Valley community.

To guide this work, the District is establishing a Community Facilities Task Force—an advisory committee made up of parents, staff, community members, and District representatives. Over the course of the planning process, the Task Force will review data, explore options, and provide input and recommendations to the District. The committee’s work will emphasize transparency, broad community engagement, and pragmatic solutions that prioritize student learning environments, safety, sustainability, and long-term facility durability. The process will culminate in a final Long Range Facilities Planning report and recommendations for Board consideration by May 2027.
