Public Records Requests
The Methow Valley School District is committed to transparency and open government. In accordance with the Washington State Public Records Act (RCW 42.56), the District makes public records available for inspection and copying unless exempt from disclosure by law.
How to Submit a Public Records Request
You may submit a public records request in any of the following ways:

- In Person
To help us process your request efficiently, please include the following information:
- Your name and contact information (email address, mailing address, and/or phone number)
- A detailed description of the records you are requesting
- The date range of the records, if known
- Any additional information that may help us locate the records
What to Expect
- The District will respond within five (5) business days of receiving your request.
- Our response may include:
- Providing the requested records
- Acknowledging receipt of your request and providing a reasonable estimate of the time needed to respond
- Requesting clarification, if needed
- Denying the request (in whole or in part), with an explanation of the applicable exemption
Fees
There may be fees associated with providing copies of public records, as permitted by Washington State law. The District will notify you of any applicable charges before fulfilling your request.
Exemptions
Some records may be exempt from disclosure under state or federal law. If records are withheld or redacted, the District will provide a written explanation citing the specific exemption.
