State, District and Classroom Assessments

Like others around the state, MVSD students in grades 3-8, 10 and 11 take state assessments each spring. The state superintendent’s office provides detailed information on testing.

In the Spring (2015), the state implemented a new testing tool called the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA). MVSD students in grades 3-8, 10 and 11 took that state assessment and did well. In almost every subject area and grade level, the district’s scores outpaced state averages. Here is a summary view of how each grade level and subject area in MVSD scored on the 2016-2017 assessments. For a complete breakdown of test scores, see the state’s assessment page.

For additional information, hard copies of the summary reports, or questions about assessment at MVSD please contact the district Assessment Coordinator Drew Simmons.
