Methow Valley Elementary

We welcome you to our school. At MVE we strive to develop “curious, creative, compassionate, competent, action-oriented citizens prepared to change the world.” This vision is supported by a caring and dedicated commitment from the community and families.

Nestled along the eastern slope of the North Cascades, MVE is a school of approximately 410 students and 50 staff members in grades Pre K-6th grade. Serving as an authorized International Baccalaureate – Primary Years Program (PYP) of study since 2017, the MVE staff works within an instructional framework that emphasizes research, critical thinking, communication, and self-management skills and social and emotional wellness using an inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning. The integrated units of study implemented at each grade level, build upon on each student’s natural curiosity about the world, how it works, and what can be done to make it a better place for all, which guides their learning.

We recognize we can’t do it alone… We benefit greatly from a strong partnership that exists between our highly skilled staff and the many parents and community members who support our schools. This partnership is reflected by high level of parent and community participation in support of our students’ learning, resulting in a variety of enriching learning activities, deeper levels of student engagement, and opportunities for students to utilize their learning by “initiating action” in support of others.
