Methow Valley Schools strive to support every student achieving at a high level and has worked hard to ensure all students have access to a free and appropriate menu of dual credit options that benefits all students by helping them meet entry level and barrier requirements for all technical, 2 year, and 4 year degree programs
Dual Credit provides students with the potential to earn high school and college credit at the same time through successful completion of a course and/or corresponding exam.
In the Methow Valley we offer all forms of dual credit which include exam based credit through AP courses, course based credit through College in the High School (CiHS) and CTE dual credit, and the Running Start programs at Wenatchee Valley College and Central Washington University
Exam based dual credit through AP allows students to apply to receive college credit with a corresponding exam score of 3 or better (for AP). In course based dual credit a student enrolls in a high school class that is articulated with the standards of a college or university and the student receives transferable college credit when earning a C+ or better in the course. For Running Start a student enrolls and takes in-person or on-line courses at an actual college or university.
